If soap could talk…it was my launch day…my first day out…my first party!
It was me, Kumquat Honey & Shea Bar (a creamy natural bar of soap that leaves you feeling so soft and lifted), along with my partners, a wonderful Kumquat Soy Candle and a Kumquat Festival Scented Wax Cube. We had a blast!! Our owners, Lon and Ricki of Natural Bar Soap Company, worked hard on creating us, making sure we are of the highest quality! I do feel superior to all other natural bar soaps! Candle and Waxy feel the same.
The Festival started at 9am on a cool blue sky chamber of commerce day!! As the day went on the crowd grew and it did get a little warm out. My buddy Candle told me he heard there was over 40,000 festival goers this year…along with 438 vendors – if you can think of it, there was probably a booth for it. And Kumquats galore!!! Kumquat Soap, Kumquat Wine, Kumquat Honey, Kumquat Jam, Kumquat dipped in Chocolate, Kumquat Pies, Kumquat Cakes over at Betty’s Cakes….yummy…Betty’s has the most wonderful cakes!!!* Oh, and I found a shady spot inside Kafe Kokopelli’s, a very unique restaurant. They were serving Kumquat beer and Kumquat Margaritas.** No, soap doesn’t drink but these drinks looked delicious!
Yes, the day was all about Kumquats, including ME and my buddies…Candle and Waxy. If you would like to meet us in person, come on over and visit us here at our creators’ store. We are also sold at local Dade City stores, The Dade City Magnolia House and American Eagle Antiques.
Kumquat Festival Line of
Products – 2013
Natural Bar Soap Company launched a full line of Kumquat products – Kumquat Honey & Shea Natural Bar Soap, Kumquat Natural Citrus Soy Candle, and Kumquat Festival scented wax cubes for wax warmers at this year’s Kumquat Festival in Dade City, FL. The line was well received….good sales and positive feedback!!! We will make our Signature Festival Products available all year…we’re currently working a Blueberry Festival product line. Please tell us about your favorite festival!!
Being a bar of natural soap, I was low profile and just sat back, watching the flow of thousands of people. It was peaceful. Folks seemed polite and friendly. Dade City was shining – very clean, freshly landscaped, and so quaint. Since I do have all the time in the world (unless someone buys me…then I have about 2 weeks to love on some skin…don’t be sad, I’m cloned), I was thinking what would I do to make it easier for those walking around the festival. Well, I did see people buying Kumquat trees and other large items then carrying them all over the Festival…I would advise a small, fold-down hand cart next year. Oh, and, if you want to park close to town to avoid riding the free shuttle to and from the Pasco Fairgrounds, come early!! By 10am most of the downtown parking is gone.
I think all the folks that put this event together – the Festival’s General Manager, Joey Wubbena, the Volunteers, all the Sponsors, Media, and the Chamber of Commerce did such a first class job!! It’s a wonderful Festival. So, if you didn’t come this year, I hope to see you next year. Just think YOU can have me and my buddies in your home…you will love us!!!
Below are my owners, Lon and Ricki, and Kyle, the artist that designed our logo, Quat shirts, and my soap wrapper, display their Kumquat Festival spirit as they walked around the Festival in there “Do the Quat” T-shirts.
It may be a while before you hear from me again; there are a lot more Festival Soaps coming up and they will do their own Festival Reviews… Until next time, Love Kumquat Shea & Honey Natural Bar Soap….I’m so good 🙂
